Week 10.
Main thing that I learn? DO NOT procrastinate! I realize and I just realize that I have to stop being so ignorance and being totally okay with procrastinating because as I check LMS, there are so many work that I did not participate. Seriously, what did I do in the class?
We jump to week 11 lecture. But that is not what I want to talk about. During Dr. Lee's class he talk about how the experience of being a leader is important and something to be proud of. SO, I think to myself, I've been a leader since I was year 1 until the end of my secondary school. But as I enter UMS, I always am the one who try to not be in a position where I have to take a responsibility. Always want to be the person who sit at the back. Did I contribute to one of the burden that our leader need to handle?.. I hope not.
Dr. Lee always tell us about his life as a student in UK? I don't really remember. But he seems to enjoy the experience and he learn so many thing. He always take something as a new learning process. Why cant I be like that?. I only thing about continuing my study and pass the exam and done. Does not give a damn about experience or what so ever. I mean I am amazed how someone could really feel excited about learning something academically new everyday. Me? I only care about observing my surrounding and how a person attitude affect his/her life or people around them. Academically? I only care about passing the exam. Always wonder when everything is going to be over. So, maybe I should change the way I accept lecture, class, assignment, task and everything. See it as something fun and easy.

Week 5
On week 5, we did some recap about why do we need to test and then we move on to type of test.
What did I learn?
-Well, I did listen and what attract my intention or should I say what bothered me the most is, even during this week, I still cant figure out what is the best type of test that will be easy for me to do when I become a teacher someday without neglecting students priority. I thought MCQ is easy. Throw out any 3 wrong answer and put one correct answer and that's it. But there are actually so many things to consider.
- Second thing is that, picture and comic can really help one to understand better. I mean, my lecturer slides have so many comic and picture and that really help me to understand the point so much easier than to read every sentence. It is also more fun to read.

Week 4
This week, I try to focus on the "Bloom's Taxonomy" thing. I can't believe that I have been listening to this theory for so many times now, but still I don't have any idea of what exactly the theory offer. I always am the person who says "I'll read it later" but I never did. So, lets find out what this Bloom's Taxonomy really is.
Bloom's taxonomy is a classification of learning objectives within education proposed in 1956 by a committee of educators chaired by Benjamin Bloom. Huh, announcing theory over his own name, typical. Hehe. This theory have been use into many teaching philosophies and for this subject, we are looking at it as a guideline to prepare a good test and assessment. And the test should follow the chart bellow.
Based on this cognitive domain of bloom taxonomy theory, me and 6 other members discuss and prepare the 6 question. I was suppose to list all the question here but I did not. Its all because of my procrastinating attitude. However, I will make sure to go look for it again and complete this Entry.

Week 3
Week 3, the lecture so far is easy to catch up and for this week, I learn mostly about why should we test and type of test.
Hmm.. Why should we test?.. personal answer, because our ministry said so. So, why do our country and other country implement exam and test in every school, that is what I want to know as well. Because for sure, as a student I don't like exam and test.
Why test?
- From what I understand from this week lectures, test is important as a tools to measure students achievement and progress. We need to find out whether they really understand what they learn so far. Other than that, test is also needed for finding what difficulties that students might face during his/her learning process. For example, in English Language subject, test will help the teacher to find out what is the specific skills that each student might have difficulties with. Some student might struggle with their grammar and some might struggle with vocabulary. Test will help to figure all that out.
- To add to that, I think 1 of the reason why test is needed is to choose the best from the best when we need to pick them for a job or qualification.
Type of test
1) Progress test
2) Achievement test
3) Diagnostic test
4) Placement test
5) Aptitude test
There are some other type of test but I think I can conclude that no matter what type of test it is, it always end up to one reason, to group the candidates to who is better than the other.

Week 2
It's week two, I remember how I use to complain about having two hours tutorial. But then I realized that this is my job as a student. It happens that I was so into this drama entitled "Supernatural" during this week and I was hit by the phrase that the old man in that drama said to the main character (Dean Winchester). He said "Dean, when you do something that u know u have to do, u do it with a smile, without nagging. If u don't want to do, it'simple. U can always choose to Quit". Well I can relate to that and I cannot quit.
So, week two is all about the fundamental of teaching assessment. What is the criteria of a good and bad test. There are many word that I have to remember but I decided to focus into just Validity and reliability because I think just by doing that, I can understand the whole point without having to try so hard to remember everything. I guess it's true that understanding is so much better than just trying to memorize everything.
I understand that reliable alone will not make a good quality of a test. It needs to be valid as well. And valid means we have to make sure that the test we prepare will definitely measure what it claims to measure. Wah, there is so many thing to do as a teacher. Will definitely not going to be an easy task.
This remind me to two of my lecturer, one of them just copy paste a question from a book (maybe because she/he care so much about validity and reliability but not sure if she can do it by her/himself), and one of them just copy and paste a question from the internet where I can just google the answer ( maybe because he/she does not really care about validity and reliability at all, as long as there is a test). So I think to myself, will I be that kind of teacher too?. I bet, I will cheat sometimes. Doesn't matter. As long as it it valid and reliable. Is it?. Not sure.

Week 1.
I was so excited to know that I was going to have Wednesday and Tuesday as my free day for fifth semester. So when my lecturer canceled our Monday class, I decided to go back to UMS on Wednesday. Unfortunately I miss one Language Testing Assessment class because of that decision since I just found out that they were actually a class on Wednesday at 8.00 am on Tuesday night. So I didn't make it that day. However, since my lecturer is nice enough to upload everything on LMS, I was able to catch up with what they learn for that day and for the whole week.
For week 1, I mainly learn about all the basic word that I'm sure I have to hear a lot through the whole semester for this Subject. I just think that it is very crucial to remember all of the term in order for me to be able to really understand about what am I aiming to learn for this subject. So, I figure, I should list them all here.
1). Assessment > Any variety of procedures to measure students performance.
> divided into two type. Measurement (e.g testing) and non-measurement (e.g informal observation).
2) Test > Instrument for measuring a sample of behavior, usually involves posing a set of questions in a uniform manner.
3) Testing > A systematic procedure for the measurement of behavioral change.
> Involve 3 stages. Preparation (test specification), implementation (test administration), and examination (scoring).
Beside this important term, I also learn about the connection of teaching, assessment and testing. Frankly, I knew that this three thing is absolutely related to each other but what I don't really understand yet is how to produce or prepare the best assessment for the students. Is it by what I think is better or is it by following everything that the ministry of education ask us to do.
